Assertiveness at Work

Build a strong, confident, yet non-aggressive demeanour which allows you to handle difficult situations or people more positively

Who is it for?

This course is for groups of submissive or aggressive people who want to learn to stand up for themselves and their ideas whilst showing respect for others. It’s equally valuable for those who want to better handle aggressive or submissive behaviour in others.

What does it cover?

It’s all about employing greater use of the influence that you can generate; being more effective, specific, relevant and achieving positive outcomes. It helps delegates make a plan for realistic change and enables them to understand the benefits of professionally assertive behaviour. Delegates learn to say no effectively, give and receive criticism, and recognise and deal with fear.

What will delegates be able to do differently?

  • Confidently use techniques to stand up for themselves in any situation
  • Be able to calm aggression or overcome passivity in themselves or others
  • Earn the respect of their colleagues as they empathetically say what they really mean, even in difficult situations
  • Use the checklist that the course gives them to guide their behaviour in practice
